My plan is to hit up Shinjuku, Akihabara, Harajuku, Shibuya and Yokohama for their Chinatown.

I've basically got 2 nights and 3 days.

I don't know much about Japan, so what should I see and what should I do? I think all the areas I listed above are shopping districts, is that correct?

And has anyone been to the Chinatown in Yokohama? how is it? I imagine it's way better than Incheon or Busan Chinatowns.

check out the Ueno area of Tokyo. It has a great park with a ton of shrines and temples, plus it has a monument to a Meiji era battle that took place there. It is also close by to the Asakusa area, which has one of the oldest temples in the city. Akiba is also a good bet, and if you want more nerd like fun, head to Odaiba over the Rainbow Bridge on the new monorail from Shiodome to Daiba station and head a few blocks down to Shiokaze Park. This summer they have a life sized Gundam in the park that they light up at night. I went and saw it just before they unveiled it and it is amazing site to see and nice companion site after spending any time in Akiba, especially at night as they light up the robot as well as the Rainbow Bridge which sits in the background. It is quite a site. Odaiba also is a bit of a "city of the future" as many companies have experimental buildings there. The island itself is manmade, so it has a bit of interesting ness to it.

I went to Chinatown in Yokohama and while it was nice, it didn't blow me away. Though I come from Toronto and there's a pretty decent Chinatown there.

If you want to see some cultural spots, Nikko's a pretty nice day trip from the Tokyo area.
