Hi,
I actually have a TON of questions. I have a very short time to take care of paperwork, and to make it more complicated-my boyfriend and I are going to get married before I move there so that he can come with me. Will he be able to work as my spouse/dependent there? Or just me?
If I need to arrive there on Aug. 23rd, when should I purchase a flight there? I mean, should I purchase it for days ahead of time, or to arrive on Aug. 23rd?
Should I mostly just pack my clothes, and ship most of my other things? What is the best way to take an XBOX/laptop with me?
Has anyone worked for the EPIK program? If so, can you tell me about your experience?

| To answer one of your questions, your fiance will have to get his own separate visa to work in Korea. He will have to go through the same process that you do to get one. |

Laptop: stick in your carry-on
What else are you planning on taking with you that you would need to ship? maybe the x-box. i know i am debating whether or not to ship my desktop (can i live without sims 3? that is the question), some other people have done that. |

Yes, I do. I'm doing all of the paperwork/visa stuff that needs to be done now. I'm mostly just worrying about shipping/storing stuff. |

| I am assuming that your bf has a degree. If he does make sure he brings his transcripts and originals with him. Including his CBC. He can apply in country if he has a accompanying spouse visa. |

Actually, he does not have a degree. He is simply coming along with me-we've been living together for 6 years, and are registered as "domestic partners," but I guess that is not good enough in Korea, so we're getting married. I'm not really sure what he can do with his time while he's there if he can't work as well? |

A possiblity that you might consider is to have your fiance get a student visa. There are many English lang. programs which he can apply for, and it's not difficult to get a student visa. The law allows 20 hours per week of work during school and unlimited hours during school breaks. BTW, nobody appears to check the hours because many uni students are working much more and completely neglecting their studies.
I know a few non-native speakers of English who worked their way through uni here teaching English. If he is a native speaker of English, it should be even easier. |

Very real possibility if he has any game / looks at all.
I would also recommend the student visa / work thing. He should be working here, for obvious reasons including to get him out of the apt and to make more than W20k an hour... |

What kind of schools are there that he could apply to? Also, are they costly? We are pretty poor at the moment.
Haha, maybe it would be better to keep him locked in the apartment afterall-he is good looking, and he's got game in a mysterious sort of way! |
