|
|
My wife and I are arriving in Korea at the end of August and I'd like to find a nice yeogwan for us to stay in for a few days before I start my EPIK contract in Goseong.
We were thinking of flying to Incheon and staying one night in Seoul before taking the KTX down to Busan and staying somewhere nice near the beach, if possible.
Has anyone got any love motel/yeogwans that they'd recommend in Busan? When we lived in Korea before we always enjoyed the tacky glamour of the love motels, don't worry, we know what they're really for though!
Also, can anyone suggest anywhere nice in Seoul? I was thinking of the Anguk Guesthouse but it can be a bit disorganised and slapdash there at times!
Thanks in advance guys. |

By Haeundae there are plenty. I stayed in quite a nice one, not too far from the beach or the station. I forget the name, but I remember choosing it because it was the tallest building...so easy to find.
As you probably know, the beauty about love motels the fact that you can walk right in and get a room. Simple as that. So you can find one which looks nice, check it out and choose stay. If it's not as nice as you expected or you are looking for a change, move on |

Yes, Haeundae has a million. If you can navigate Korean sites you can find love motel directories and get more information about Haeundae motels. But, when you walk around you'll see that most of the new ones have pictures of the rooms on the outside and have a list of the features, in Korean, on a banner across the facade.
I stayed at the Nobelesse (sp?) a couple times and it was good. Too tired to explain completely how to get there, but basically you go out the subway station toward the beach, walk about two blocks and turn right. You'll see it, among the other ones. But I think with any of the new, flashy ones you'll be okay. |

Thanks guys, I figured there would be quite a choice down at Haeundae beach but just thought I'd ask if anyone had a personal favourite.
Any recommendations for Seoul at all?

| for Seoul I would suggest the Sincheon area right by Hongdae University. Head to the Sincheon Subway then take the Eiwa Women's College exit. There is a big right behind the big YBM there are tons of pretty good ones for inexpensive prices. Plus they are right by the subway and close to Seoul Station. In Busan though if you want to save money I would suggest heading over to the Seomyeon or Kyungsung area. Haeundae has loads but they charge significantly more. Seomyeon and Kyungsung are far better places too for subwaying around and checking out the various centers around town. |

There are some great ones by Yeongdeungpo station. King Size beds, jacuzzi, big screen TV...all that jazz. Like Smee said, the often have pictures or list the facilities on the outside... |

| Dong Yang Motel just 150m from Busan train station. It's very clean, cheap, modern (large flat screen tvs & computer), and has huge bathrooms with jacuzzi tubs. The VIP room is just W45,000. |

Seomyeon if your in Busan, its very convienient and a lively area. Hyudae if you are going with your wife for a more relaxing time or somewhere even further from the action.
In seoul, the Sincheon area is best avoided because the prices can be upwards of 100 on a Saturday night!!! I've stayed at many in Yeungdong po, and its very convieniently located. Or for even cheaper and more luxurios ones, check the out skirts, there are a few nice ones in Gwangmyeong. And many in Buypyeong (Incheon) and Juan (Incheon)

| Queen Hotel across from Busan Stn is pretty good for 40 000won. They even have PC's with internet in the rooms! Large bed, clean bathroom, big TV, etc. If you look across the road from the 2nd floor of Busan Stn, you can see the sign on top of the bldg. It may only be written in Korean though, 퀸. |
