Hi all!
This is my first post here! I am a recent college graduate, and I'm very interested in spending time in Korea teaching English. A close friend of mine spent 6mos doing the same, and recommended it to me.
My only concern is what to do with my dog. I'm nearly certain I could find somebody to keep him for a while, but I would love to be able to bring him along.
If anyone could give me info on whether or not this is possible, and under what conditions, I would be very grateful.
Otis is a 12lb sweet tempered mini dachshund

yup...of course you can bring your dog here.
Ask your school to check with your landlord though...
I think there's a 10 day quarantine.
www.animalrescuekorea.org.
It's got a bunch of foreigners in Korea with their pets. |

thanks! I figured that it was possible, just wanted to make sure. I've never traveled (airplane) with my dog, so I have no clue how that all works. I was just curious if the living arrangements generally allow for pets. I'm sure I can get more specific information as I move along in the process, I just wanted to do some preliminary research for planning.
any other information would be greatly appreciated!

If you bring your dog over remember that you probably won't be able to do much traveling for the entire time that you are here..(unless you can find a sitter of course which is not always likely considering teachers usually have vacations at similar times) Which would be a sad missed opportunity to explore this part of the world..
If someone is willing to take the dog.. I would leave it at home. It will be safer there IMO. And a year is really not that long. |

Now I'm being told that the quarantine for coming back into the states is 6 months! I'm just gonna have to be real nice to somebody so they'll keep him here. |

That information is totally ridiculous, unless you live in Hawaii. I travel back and forth with mine and there is no quarantine either way. Just make sure you have the shots done thirty days before you travel.
Get your information from pettravel.com. |

Who told you that? TGT is right ... that only applies to Hawaii. I suggest visiting the ARK site for more reliable information. |
