Job Description
We have a good curriculum.
Please have a look at this website.
www.odysseyofthemind.com
 NASA is sponsoring this program.
Odyssey of the Mind
is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competition on the local, state, and World level. Thousands of teams from throughout the U.S. and from about 25 other countries participate in the program.
NASA Proud Sponsor Of Earth Trek |
So, I was surprised to find out that a NASA sponsored program is discriminating against gyopos. Discrinimation is something that is a big no-no in the US, and the fact that NASA's name could be used to condone discrimination really got me fired up.
So, I sent an email to the Odyssey of the Mind people. Here is what they said:

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Please accept my apology for the offensive language in the ad. Unfortunately we cannot control how some people use our curriculum, most likely found for free on our website. I will forward this to our program director and we will be contacting this person in hopes that they will take the ad down, or remove the offensive language. We definitely do not support any type of discrimination -- our program was built on the concept that any person regardless of age, sex, learning ability, or social status can excel at creative problem-solving. We have official associations around the world that are open to everyone and we pride ourselves on being an international "family."
Again, please accept my apology and thanks for giving us this information,
Jennifer Veale |

I got another email from Odyssey of the Mind
Quote: |
This is not an Odyssey of the Mind job opening and we have nothing to do with
this purported job posting. We will immediately demand that the use of our web
address and copyright protected materials be removed and not used again. We
are disturbed that someone would make it appear as though the Odyssey of the
Mind posted this material.
Sincerely,
Samuel W. Micklus

pkang0202, good job making the point clear to Odyssey of the Mind. But unfortunately, you know, this is how things play out in Korea. |
