Does anyone happen to know where around Seoul I can find a reasonably priced tent? I just need it for rock fest on the weekend and maybe a few weekend trips. Looked at Home plus, but they only have hardcore hiking tents that cost W200 000. I just want something cheap and waterproof!! Smile

Due to recent popularity of camping lately, there is a little chance you will find anything remotely decent that is not WAY overpriced.

I was looking at emart yesterday and laughing at the 270,000 won pricetag on a tent that could easily be bought for 50,000 back home.

Gmarket has a good selection of tents. If you can wait a few days for delivery, you will likely save yourself a good bit of cash if you buy from there.

Have to agree with coralreefer, Gmarket is so much cheaper than the stores.

It doesn't take very long, I live in Jeju and received my order in only a few days!

I bought two tents from gmarket. They both cost about 20,000. One was waterproof one was not. Ask a Korean to help. I'm happy with both tents.

There is a Coleman outdoor store in Apgujeong (just outside of exit 4). Maybe more than you need but you can get another idea of what is out there.

Costco has put away all their summer camping stuff for the season. The lady said the Xmas stuff was coming soon. We were looking for a grill and there was nothing.

Lotte mart and E mart have tents featured in their summer junk ads. According to the models they are foreigner approved.
