Made in Mexico Telecaster Deluxe bought at Nagwon less than a year ago. I had all three pickups replaced with custom shops. The electronics cavity was also professionally sprayed with shielding paint to reduce noise. It stays in tune and intonates well. The tone is fantastic. This guitar cost 450,000 won and I paid 280,000 for the upgrades. I will take 400,000 firm. Im only selling it because I am moving and I can't take everything.

The colors are exactly like this.. but one small nick in the finish, no belt rash, overall looks great.

Researching this one I note the necks for these are MIA - USA made, in a factory just 130 miles north of the Baja plant.

These are string-thru-body aren't they?
Also you have already countered the biggest issue with MIM by replacing the pups.

It's a pretty good price.

Interest, but here's the trouble: you bought the guitar, went to all the trouble of swapping out the pickups, and then kick it when you leave town. Obviously, if it was a real gem you'd keep it, so my fear is that it's basically a Squier Tele with a pickup-swap that didn't work out.

The price is right, though....

Do they make Squires in Mexico? What, so they make 'original Fender MIMs as well as MIM squires? Crikey.
I can see what you mean - 450k to buy an MIM at a dealer here is a little cheap as usually above 600k for an MIM - hence is that why it gets us thinking 'too cheap for a Mexican?')

I reckon it's a good price if it really is an MIM Fender. I think someone aspiring for decent enough music making on stage should snap it up - if it is so.
Better than buying a Samick for that price. Or a CIC (crafted in China strat for near that price. I have heard some real bad quality gats here ...
No matter you change the pups you've still got a crappy neck, body, tuners, bridge, electrics of a CIC guitar.
At least with MIM you get a good neck, and a decent body. If you change the pups then you are halfway to having an MIA tele.

So, some clarification from the seller at this point will be nice.
I wonder if the MIMs have serial numbers or is there another way to prove origin and type?

I'm not sure why you are suspicious about the quality of this guitar. In my opinion, mexican teles are 100 times better than the POS squire that I had when I was first learning to play. I have bought and sold many instruments for various reasons over the years. One thing that is always consistent is you lose money on the resale because people won't pay new prices for used equipment. Your call.

I'm not really sure what your asking me, it sounds like you are speculating about the origins of Squires/MIM teles which I am not familiar with. When I bought my instrument I was more concerned with functional aspects of the instrument like.. how does it feel, how does it sound, does it stay in tune? It came with all the official fender tags and booklets which I may have thrown out just recently, for better or worse. Yes it is a string through body. The serial number is MZ 5085872.

I paid with my American credit card when I purchased this at Nagwon so I may have actually paid 450 US dollars.. I honestly can't remember. In that case then this would really be deal.

Any other questions let me know and I will try and answer them.

I can confirm the Mex tele is better than any newer Squire you will find. I've had to Mex teles and one was just a standard sounded and played nice. The other was a reissue and it could rival some American mades. I would advise playing any guitar before you buy it. Same lot guitars can sound different one to the next.
