I am looking for a used futon or couch that can fold down and comfortably sleep two. I am located in Jangsan, but don't mind paying a bit extra for delivery. Please email me if you have one your are trying to get rid of, or know somewhere in Pusan where I can get one reasonably priced. If you have any advice I would really appreciate it!
Thanks!
Alison

Check the buy/sale/trade forum. I believe I saw a futon being passed around over there earlier this week.

I bought one on gmarket for around 100,000 won.

here is one that is a little more expensive, but you can look around the site.

I thought Koreans said, "쇼파".

Anyway, when I read the title i thought, "Finally, a word to rhyme with hootenanny."

Thanks Polonius!

Any suggestions on how a Korean illiterate like myself can go through the ordering and delivering process?

you can set up an account. There is an English site. Do it through there. You can pay by transfering money from your account to theirs.

Once you locate what you want on the Korean part, then just click English on the top right side. It will take you to the English section.

You can try to search on the English section, but I have found that sometimes the same items are more expensive on the English site, and sometimes you can't find what you want.

It is pretty easy to set up an account. They will give you an account to wire money to. It will be a bank account that you bank with, so that there are no transfer fees if you transfer during business hours. And it will be your own personal bank account to wire to. Keep it on file, so that if you ever order something else, you have it on file. Mind you, they always text you with the account information and how much you need to pay.

Let me know if you have any problems.

The futon listed is great (I bought the same thing last year) though the one I got is slightly different (no colored cushion/comforter)

I was close to buying one from the weagookinmall website, but was hesitant to lay down that money, and I did not like the way it looked in the sofa position. The one on gmarket looks great in the sofa position, but the bed is a different issue.

Because this is a futon that "lays back" rather than slides out like other varieties, in the bed position, there will be a rather hard spot all the way down the length for the spine of the futon. I have put 4 eebuls on top of mine in the bed position and can still feel the bar in the middle, and it will force you to sleep on one side or the other. I would also add that if you put two people on it as you mention in the OP, it will be VERY close, unless you are both as skinny as chopsticks. At 120 cm wide, that is 60 cm for each person (just less than 2 feet) and that is about as wide as the distance from your knee to your ankle.

Good luck with whatever you purchase, and let us know how it works out.
