I know that SMOE and EPIK usually don't do placements for high school jobs. So how do I go about finding jobs for them? just wait for recruiters to post job listings?
Even Technical High schools I would be happy to teach. |

Recruiter or phone schools yourself.
Recruiters can misrepresent you on agree to things on your behalf
I was contacted by a school I'd phoned in Bundang out of the blue, but already had something lined up. |

after calling a few high schools I was told that they fill their positions by using SMOE. Has something changed? |

ummmm EPIK and SMOE ALWAYS do placements for high schools. Whoever told you that they don't is full of ****!
You can apply to them directly, but there is no real english directory of high schools and it would be nearly impossible to apply to them directly from overseas (unless you speak korean and even then its very hard)
The direct application to SMOE and EPIK are basically closed, but you still might be able to apply for a public high school position through a recruiter. I know last year I didnt apply with my recruiter until July 20 and I got a public high school in Incheon for the beginning of September. I also know my replacement at this school won't be here until October, so there are always last commers. |

Some of the descriptions I read for the SMOE and EPIC program were misleading on that point. They suggested directly that they did not place for high schools -- like they would mention elementary and middle schools but not high schools.
However, when you will out the paperwork, at least with SMOE, they ask for your preference, and high schools is clearly one and so is a teacher-training college. |
