Just wondering if any of you know a walk-in store in Seoul, preferably around Gangnam / Samseong area, that handles accounts for Wibro service in English? I see a lot of Show stores, but I think most only deal with cell phones. I need to change some details of the account. I tried calling, but they have no English speaking operator. figures. |

I have WiBro service on my cell and use my cell as a WiBro modem for my labtop. You cant get WiBro at any cell phone store; you have to go to Korea Telecom (KT) itself to sign up for the service. My cell phone, an up scale version of the popular Omnia phone, but I have no idea what its called. No one there spoke English, but I speak some Korean.
There is a KT north of the Yeok Sam Station on the Green (#2) line. (It might be a block east of Yeok Sam Station). Thats where I got mine.
It works like a charm, but its a pain at first because my cell initially didnt receive WiBro signal and had to get my cell phone serviced at the Samsung service center (a software upgrade). You also have to install a software from the cell phone DVD onto your notebook, with all the instructions in Korean. I tried to look for English manuals, but not for the advanced version of Samsung phone available in Korea and not anywhere else available. |
