I'm looking for a fairly inexpensive place to get my desktop fixed. I even have an install disk, but my disk drive won't open, and I'm tired of dealing with it. Anyone have any suggestions? Somewhere in or around Bundang would be good, I don't want to have to drag it all the way into Seoul. If you know some repair person who only speaks Korean, let me know so I can have one of my K-friends call, otherwise, directions would be appreciated.
Thanks!

There used to be a place in Sunae about 100 meters down the street in front of the Royal Palace Houseville parking entrance. It was sort of closer to Lotte Mart and an A-One stationary store, so if you'd be walking out of the RP Houseville parking garage entrance, just head straight toward Lotte along that side road.

There are many, many people who work as 'Computer Doctors' here in Korea. If you ask one of your Korean friends, they can call up someone and have them come round to your place tomorrow and fix your computer for a couple of man won....it's amazing how easy and cheap it is here to get the help you need; back in the UK it would cost a lot more and you'd have to lug your computer to the expert rather than them come to you.

If they can't fix it at your place then they will take it away and bring it back in a day or two.

Never never never take your computer into a repair shop. Those guys just make up crazy prices on the spot.

As suggested, ask a Korean friend if they know a computer guy who works cheap and will do a home call.

Any other repair shops? (In case the first one no longer exists or otherwise doesn't work out).

I'm in the exact same situation, and also in Jeongja.

For me though having someone come to my apartment will not work, as this is all under warranty so I need something more formal: A itemized estimate on company letterhead

For work done under warranty you should go to the manufacturers A/S center, which is most likely somewhere in Yongsan. Ask a Korean friend to help you with the exact location. Bring the under warranty item there.

Bringing an under warranty item to a local computer store is crazy. God knows what they'll do, but it will probably void your warranty.

Not this warranty, nor is it applicable. Mastercard extends your 1-year warranties to an automatic 2 years. All I need is a repair estimate from a shop (any shop)- then Mastercard will pay out that amount.
