Just wondering if anyone has been come on to by their cute korean counterparts? Or maybe not cute lol. Now that would be hilarious " you are fired for not giving me a good seeing to" says the 50yo madame.

ha! Smile

funny you mention this.

I definitely got hit on by one of my coteachers just before I left during a field trip.

but I think she's 35 now, almost unmarriable by Korean standards and she's desperate for anyone/anything, even a dirty waygook like me.

I'm not interested for a very long list of reasons and will be keeping this completely professional. I'm not even that friendly with her. I was shocked, frankly.

She told me a great story though.
Said there's a teacher in the school why leads a very "mysterious" lifestyle.

No one knows anything about his private life. No one knows whether he's married.

I said GREAT! but apparently Koreans think you have to disclose these things Shocked

and he spends every possible moment of his vacations in the Phillippines.

She was wondering why.. golf? or what?

I just guffawed. She really is kind of dense.

so I told her - easy - try girlfriend... or plural.

I dated the music teacher at my school for a couple of months before I left. Actually we didn't start dating until she had moved onto a different school in the area. Her friend was my first co-teacher and she approached me and asked if I would tutor the music teacher in English. I think it was a setup, because it seemed like she knew a lot more English than she let on in the beginning.

Anything with a clean break is great.

Personally after a bad experience a while back co-workers are taboo. Sucks on occasion, but its ways to chalk it up to "I'm just kidding myself."

Just my opinion but although it is easier to start a spark in the workplace, it may not pay off in the long run. Breakups are hell, double in the workplace, quadruple if you are a foreigner.
She puts on the pouty eyes and tells of your evil deeds then all those male teachers who were jealous of you and all those ladies jealous of her now have good reason to show how much they hated you.

Additionally, if you make two good friends then you will have many opportunities for dating outside of the work environment.

It's also possible she tells the other female teachers that you were good in bed, which might lead to more opportunities.

Actually, I don't know if it's possible- I don't know what I'm talking about. But if it did happen, it would be great, wouldn't it? Cool

Haha...not in my case. She was super paranoid that anyone would know about it. It kinda sucked because we were in a smaller town so it was a bit scandalous for her to be hanging out with a waygook. She wouldn't even let me walk her home late at night. I feel like kind of an ass because I haven't contacted her since I've been back, but she's 31 and I know that it wouldn't be long before she started talking about marriage and I'm just not ready for anything like that right now. Also she never wants to leave Korea and I don't see myself making a long term commitment to this place.

Had a boss hit on me one night. She was drunk. She also hit on the only other male teacher at the MT. He was married, had kids, and was Mormon. He looked like a deer in headlights as a tablefull of women coworkers acted like they weren't watching. Us guys were sitting in chairs and the boss was on the floor, only she would rest her elbows on our knees when she talked to us. I escaped by saying I had to use the restroom. The other guy awoke that night to find the boss climbing onto the couch with him.

my co-workers are all in the 40's and 50's. There is one young person here but he is a guy...

I don't even have the luxury of entertaining the thought of hitting on a co-worker. It sucks.

Oh man that totally brings back another memory. I went out with the sixth grade teachers to a Noraebang and the ones who drink got pretty hammered and the head teacher, a woman in her 40s with 2 kids and a husband, just got belligerent to the point that we left the karaoke place and the other teachers bolted and left me with her. So I'm trying to get her to call her husband to come pick her up and she's not having it. We go into this hoff and I try to order her some water....she yells that she wants beer. She starts telling me "I love you....I love you" over and over again. Finally she passes out at the table. I had no idea what to do so I just left. She was so embarrassed about it the next time I saw her, but I know I've made a fool of myself enough times whilst drinking so I told her it was no big deal. Kinda funny though that all the other teachers bailed when she started acting like an alcoholic.

meh.

Mine hit on me when she was dead sober.. in the middle of the day.

Funnier still is that I am not the slightest bit physically attracted to her, in fact I find her somewhat repulsive, both physically and as she already has some adjumma like qualities.
