Okay,

I was thinking and was wondering something. How often do you think people graduate with degrees in our field with low GPAs? Do you think it happens often? At all? I am wondering because I am curious if unis make sure their cust...err...students are happy.

To be fair, grade inflation is true of most graduate (MA and PhD) programs.

Anecdotally, virtually everyone I've known with an MA seems to have at least a 3.6.

I would like to know if there is a difference in grades between those who completed their grad degree online vs on campus.

Sounds like we are back to discussing our student evals.

The poll results should lockdown another theory: there are no losers on the internet.

No, not at all. I was just thinking about the plethora of recent posts regarding people interested in furthering their education, and the number of people I know doing their MA in TESOL.

It's interesting, really. I see how important it is for some institutions to make sure the "customers" are happy. So, I wondered if they really do take that idea too far.

Can you explain the Grade system you are using?

In the UK, 1 is a high distinction, and 4 is a pass. 5 is fail. In Australia 7 is a high distiction, 4 is a pass, and 3 is a conceded pass and 2 or less is a fail.

What system are you using and what constitutes a pass or a high distinction?
