Mmmmmm Pies. Might have to check the place out for that, though Foodmart or what ever the place next to WTB is called has had Vegemite for a good while.

Been there a few times.

If you're an Aussie and want a taste of home, then it's a great place but even for anyone it's great.

The food's great! Especially after not being back in OZ for 5 years.

He's got lamingtons, too. I love lamingtons!

I love you Aussies, but I never understood the appeal with Vegemite. I have many Aussies friends who sweat by it. It is not quite like the Koreans and their Kimchi tho.

I could do with a nice meat pie.

Jaffles?? Australians don't use that word - we call them "Waffles" in Australia

Americans use the word "waffles" for the sweet filled type cooked pastry thingys

but Australians use the word "Waffles" for what he is selling.. (hot sandwiches filled with cheese, beaked beans, tomato etc)

Australians never say "Jaffles"

and the other HOOKAH (Arabic shisha waterpipe) - definately not Australian..

Wrong. I use jaffles & waffles.

I'm from Qld. What State are you from, ''Yesterday''? Could make a difference, the same as slab, tube, carton or case of beer, depending on State.

Vegemite is best consumed lightly spread on buttered toast. You NEVER eat it on its own. That would be like eating salted olives or anchovies on their own, & not on a pizza, where they belong.

Marmite was originally a by-product of the brewing industry. It's the dreg out of the bottom of the beer barrel and fed to children during the depression when proper nutrition was hard to come by. Vegemite is the Aussie version.

Mix a little in hot water for a salty broth-like drink.

I'm pretty sure Tony is an Aussie .. from Perth WA. and Jaffles are certainly a well known Aussie dish.
Only a K1w1 thinks pavlova is not an Aussie dish.. but we might have to share that one. I believe that Pavlova was invented by a K1w1 after he had emigrated to Australia...that was before all his mates found out just what a great place this is to live and joined him here.

Russel Crowe knows what's best for him, along with our pav inventor friend.

I heard the owner used to be in the band The Sharp. Think I'll check it out, just hope it's not full of my countrymen putting on a fake country accent cos they're Ostraaylian and yelling out "Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi!" while drinking VB and watching rubgy. Actually, that behavior is fine as long as AFL is on the box.
