Using the above link, I decided to see what my weight is nowadays. Why?
Since June of this year, I have eliminated all fattening junk food and I've started to eat healthily and exercise everyday for 1 hr.
The last time I was weighed, with clothes on, was last year for my medical check. I am 5ft 6inches and in April 2008, I weighed 64kg.
I bought a weight scale from Homeplus today, I knew I had lost quite a bit of weight, but I wasn't sure exactly how much.
I weighed myself without clothes and I weighed 56 kg. With clothes, I weighed 56.7 kgs. I have lost at least 7 kgs, most probably since the beginning of June.
There is a healthy height/weight range which is from 18.5 - 25. I used to be around 23, all I wanted was to be on the lean side of the scale i.e. nearer 18.5. I am now 20.1. I've done what I wanted to do.
If I maintain my lifestyle I should be ok. However, even if I went up to around 59 kgs, I'd still be 20.9 in the healthy range, which is still the right side to be on (in my view) in this category.
Try the link above and tell us, where are you on the BMI?
If you want practical tips how to lose weight, I'm happy to help.
Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, I've done it (20.1). |

BMI is not a great way to determine health or even obesity since it is useless for anybody with significant muscle on them
My BMI is around 28 and I have 12% bodyfat right now. Yeah, I'm overweight alright.

Sorry I didn't realize I'd posted it in the wrong place. It must have been the excitement. |

from your weight (56kg, i am guessing you are female, right?
i think the sex is also a factor.
im male, 178cm and 77kg.
i think that makes me overweight on the BMI scale.
except, im not overweight.
the bmi scale is a waste of time, but congrats on losing the weight though!
keep up the good work! |

Thank you. I still haven't got the ultra slim stomach look, but I suppose some things aren't meant to be. The main thing is I am on the leaner side of healthy, which is what I've always wanted really.
If you'd like any helpful advice, I'd be happy to help. Thanks. |

You are congratulating him? The poor man' s too skinny! A strong gust of wind will surely throw him into the gutter, not to mention what a column of ajummas in their battle-visors can do to him. Son, eat more real food and stop throwing up after a meal. Oh, and please pass my condolences to your parents for their son's obvious anorexia.
BMI is so 20th century. I'm 183cm and weight 85Kg and my fat % is around 18. Try to get a hold on a body composition scale. It'll tell you your fat% and muscle%. I read from somewhere, that the ideal fat% for men is between 10 to 15. I have still some calories to burn before I'm there, but... |

The weight sounds skinny, but my frame always looks like I am medium sized. I could never puke up my food, I love it too much to do that. |

I'm at 26.4 BMI...which I would say is pretty accurate as I'm a bit overweight, but not nearly morbidly obese.
I've read some stuff (actually given to me by a Korean doctor) on blood type and diet. Apparently, as a type-o blood type, I'm supposed to be eating more red meat than I am currently, completely avoiding rice (and a lot of other carbohydrates), and exercising vigorously. |

I'm 21...exactly in the middle. That's a good thing. I was quite ill last year at this time and my BMI at the time was 18.3!
Being too thin can be as bad as being too fat...for your body type that is! |

Hopefully I'll be a bit lower on the scale after being in Korea for a few months.
When I lived in China I lost a good deal of weight just from being more active. Riding or walking everywhere, being active in front of the classroom, etc.
Since I've been back to the U.S. its been a desk job, car, and the 9-5 grind of staring at a computer screen that has contributed to my growing waistline.
So I guess I'll endure the Korean giggles and comments for the first few months or so. Nothing like a little peer pressure to help drop the pounds. |

Yeah, I'm hoping that I'll lose a bit of weight when I get over there too! I'm not too bad right now, but I could use to lose a few pounds.
I just guessed at my weight and entered that for the BMI since we don't have a scale at my place. My BMI is 24.3, so I could definitely use to lose a bit, but I'm still in the healthy weight zone at least. |

I'm 172 cm and weigh around 72 kilos.
BMI is 24.1 which is in the healthy range but close to overweight according to the website.
Yet, I'm slim and most of it is bone or muscle as I don't have much fat on me.
Muscle weighs more than fat, so don't take this BMI malarky to seriously.... |

bmi 22
6'4", 185 lbs.
I think I'm a bit light. What's a good weight for a guy my size? 200? I'm a mesomorph, I suppose, though not very. |
