What's the best way to get one? I'm headed to Beijing in the middle of September, I've been told that you can't just go to the embassy in Seoul and that you can't buy one once you get there. What's the deal?
thanks... |

| You can go to any tour agency and get one. I went to Hanatour to get mine and it was 170,000 won. They'll take your passport and you can pick it up after a few days. |

| The Chinese regulation now requires that you get one through an agent. I've gotten (at least 10) several, but you should be a bit cautious in terms of who you ask to get you one. Korean agents often cheat Americans. Remember that the actual price of a visa for Americans is 110 USD. |

| You can go to the Chinese consulate and get one. It's in the Myeongdong area, but they charged W140,000 and took my ARC + passport + a picture (sounds like a scam but I'm hoping it's not... the official website sent me to this address). They also told me that they weren't sure if the government would approve it because my ARC expires before I get back from China... |
