Is it normal for the school to ask you to pay for gas, heat, electric, etc? Or should the school be taking care of this?
Just want to make sure... |

Normal. I pay my apartment maintenance fee (includes electricity, water, garbage, etc) and gas. Same as everyone else I know. |

While on the subject, what are some of you guys actually paying for utilities? Also, how big of a difference is there during the summer and winter? I have seen anywhere from 80,000w to 200,000w a month for utils + maintenance fees. Just wanted to get a general idea so I can plan my finances. Thanks! |

It's hard to plan your finances without a little more information. Your bills could be anywhere from 20k a month to 400k a month depending on your housing situation. When you've got a bit more info some more useful advice can be given ^^
Just for some random information, which could be irrelevant to you, I pay about 5k a month for water, 30k a month for internet, 15-40k a month for electricity (aircon in the summer) and 12k-50k a month for gas (heating in the winter). Your place will probably be smaller but your bills might be more or less. I live in a large 2 bedroom air-tight insulated house. My previous two houses though came with big holes in the window and so winter bills were much higher than those indicated above.
(The holes were for oven or aircon exhaust. They made the holes by cutting/smashing the glass in the window. Not good for insulation purposes.) |

Gas and electricity bills are calculated on an exponential scale. So if you go nuts, you pay through the nose. That could be just for my supplier, though. |
