|
|
Having searched for a good source of protein for a long time now, I thought I was onto a winner the other day when I found almonds and cashews at Gyungdong market for 7-8000 won/kg and 9,000 won/kg. That was quite a bit cheaper than I've seen anywhere else in Seoul. Even though the nuts looked a bit chipped and broken, I though 'nuts are nuts,' so picked up a kilo of cashews. They were stored in a large well-sealed tupperware container.
When I got half way through them I found an unmistakable rodent dropping (from a rat or mouse) at the bottom of the bag. Lovely! They arent brand name nuts or anything, but it makes me wonder where the rats got to them and where the nuts are from.
Anyone have an experience like this?
Anyone know a good source or rodent-free nuts? |

I saw lots of big jars in Costco, mixed nuts, cashew nuts and I think macademians too. |

Try the Red door place in Itaewon or Namdaemun markets. Saw loads of Planters stuff. |

I think the question is "Where do you get your nuts" , not "Where do you meet nuts." |

In heightened moments of emergency, when the "fight or flight" reflex takes over, I have found them. Surprising and satisfying.......... |
