The BOP Korea Agency and their recruiter Soojung, which I'm applying through for SMOE, are terrible with replies for my inquiires and they have been of NO help at all.
Soojung never answers my consistent phone calls and emails, so are their staff, recruiters and director. They are still failing to do so even now. I am also concerned about how they might fail to meet my expectations throughout the time I work in Korea and when I am in need of assistance or in emergency. The question that I need answers right now are these:
1. I will be arriving on 24th at 6pm to Incheon Airport due to personal commitment. Will S.M.O.E. or my agency provide someone to pick me up, or am I expected to come to Hyundai Center on my own?
2. Should I apply for certificate of residence to be waived for income tax in Korea, or should I pay the income tax?
3. How long does it take for the NOA to be issued? Does it usually take over 3 weeks? This is my third week, and I'm starting to get restless.
I need the answers to these questions as soon as possible, so that I can prepare for my professional work in Korea as soon as possible. I look forward to hearing comments and recommendations from anybody who has experience in working with S.M.O.E.
If you happen to have sound documents outlining these things, please email me back at [email protected] in that case.
And also, I'm thinking about sending a letter of complaint to various people working with smoe, including the smoe seoul office, but I can't seem to get their email address or phone. Any idea where I might acquire such info? |

You're arriving August 24th? If so you've got about a month to get some info. Your recruiter should definitely be keeping better tabs on you. I don't know how it works for SMOE, but with GEPIK last year I had to be picked up by my co-teacher and director. They showed 3 hours late, but apparently that's because the recruiter had only told them that day that I'd be arriving. You'll be fine. They don't get paid unless you show up safe and sound so I imagine you'll hear more in the coming weeks. |

So there's high possibility that they will show up at the airport even though I arrive a day late? Thanks |

Leave them in limbo. Just don't do anything, get your documents together and try to setup another job from somebody else who really gives a damn about your teaching and doesn't treat you like a monkey.

I have already spent over $200 on all the documents - notarization, apotillizing, etc - and I can't back up now. I'll have to wait until march of next year i I choose to wait |
