I was fortunate enough to find an EPIK position where someone was leaving at an awkward time of the year since I was too late to the boat for normal application submissions and was told that I'm good to go but need to interview and do a few other small things as a formality.
I went out on my own and get a visa (f-4) and all necessary paperwork scanned and sent out about 2-3 weeks ago now. Called the lady at the EPIK office to which she replied "ok, I will e-mail you...."
Not sure what that even means but it sounded like she wanted to get me off of the phone. I'd really like to get rolling here and make sure I have this locked up so that I can either tell other recruiters I've found something or that I need to continue looking. Start date is Sept 21 and I was hoping to get a response by early August at the latest.
Are the people at EPIK always this slow or is she going to wait last minute regardless? I'm going to employ the pestering technique very soon where I call her every day until she gets back to me with some substance. I also understand a lot of schools are out on vacation so I'm not sure if this is just a bad time of the year for schools? |

Having the same situation with the SMOE thgough my stupid agency B.O.P. Korea. Based on other people's comments, Koreans are alwasy last minute, and even then, they're not sure. It's the characteristics of people from a poor, third-world country. |

I'll have to see how they deal with daily pestering then.... |

Yeah... but the 'farmers in suits' still leave everthing to the last possible second. |

Bureaucracy moves at a snail's pace until they need something from you NOW! Overnight your visa documents so they can be processed in the next 2-4 weeks. |

This has been my experience. They lag, lag, lag but when they need something from you, it's urgent and needs to be done right away! Sigh. How did Korea develop such a last minute culture?? |

Any ideas for getting things to move quicker besides my pestering technique? |
