Here is my rig. Purchased in Yongsan with everything put together on spot for 690,000. Running 10.5.6 flawlessly.

Mother board: Gigabyte EP45-ED3L

Video card: Gigabyte 9500GT Ultradurable2 over DDR3

Processor: Intel E7400

Hard drive: WD 1TB (SATA2/8M)

Ram: Samsung DDR2 2G PC2-6400 (x2)

DVD: Samsung DVD-ROM SH-D163B (I just went with a SATA DVD ROM as I have an external dual layer dvd I will use when up and running )

Power: Heroichi HEC-Raptor 500WP

I had a major hangup for about 5 days trying to get this to work. It was my own fault. I cheaped out with the DVD Rom as I have an external dual layer dvd burner that I figured I would use after I had everything up and running. I could get my bootloader to run but the DVD Rom wouldn't run my leopard DVD. I finally tried to boot from my usb external dvd and it worked to my relief. System is working flawlessly. If anyone would like some more info on what to do, feel free to ask . Cheers.

I've wanted to do that on my Thinkpad t60, but from what I've read there is issues with the ATI mobility and the wireless card.

You built this for the equivalent of $550? That sounds pretty impressive. I didn't know parts had become that cheap. I'm still using an old clunker from 2003, but I've been upgrading various components over the years. I WILL be buying/building a computer either before I come to Korea or once I get there. A Hackintosh would be awesome, but I've always supposed that it was too difficult to get things working.

How does your video card perform on modern PC games? I'm using an ATI Radeon x1650 512MB AGP and I would REALLY like to upgrade.

Do you use a widescreen monitor? What's your resolution? 1440x990 or 1680x1050?

How close is Yongsan to Bundang? Where do you live? There's a pretty good chance I may end up buying the same components you bought and building an identical system. I just need to figure this all out now so I can buy anything in the states before I leave on August 25th.

P.S. Would it be unimaginably difficult to set it up so it's triple booting Mac OS X, Windows XP, Linux?

i could probably look this up, but how do these perform? they were still kinda iffy when i looked into this a year-ish ago. i have a macbook, but my old desktop is on its last legs and i'd like to go with an osx desktop... just don't want to blow a million dollars on a mac pro.
