So I really like Unique travel in Itaewon, but as far as I remember, they don't take credit cards (been a year since I've used them, so if it's to the contrary, let me know). Anyone know any good travel agents that definitely take cards?

Both Kangsan and Xanadu take credit cards.

I am struggling to imagine a travel agent operating without taking credit/debit cards.

Its hard to imagine then not taking a credit card,
But

Many of the debit cards or other newer function specific credit cards are only set up to work on a local, country, regional networks.
It is good to check with your bank to see where you can use your card if it isnt a real credit card.

A certian student of mine would have been stranded if it wernt for the group helping them through Asia. Although I warned them, this person didnt check and thought they could just drop the debit card on everything like they did at home. (dady's credit union dont work well in Asia)

If you go to a large retailer's mega-location they should have a travel counter. The prices may be good or bad, but most of them have international networks and should be supportive of the debit card crowd.
My local Lotte Mart has a JTB affiliated counter. JTB was pretty friendly to US network cards.
