|
|
I need some help to determine if I'm eligible for an F4 visa. Any replies would be appreciated.
I'm a U.S. citizen (born in U.S.) and I've had my name removed from the hojuk legally several years ago. My mother is a naturalized U.S. citizen (name crossed out on hojuk). However, my father was killed in the early 1980s after coming to the U.S. and was therefore not able to become a citizen. Would I be eligible for an F4 visa? BTW I'm in the process of obtaining hojuks from both sides of the family.
Thanks. |

I think you would need proof that your mother was once a Korean citizen. I was able to get that through her ho-jeok but since you said her name is off of it now, you might have to find some other type of proof that she was once a Korean citizen. |

| My understanding is that my mother's name is on the hojuk but has an X written over it. |

You should be good to go then, just obtain the hojeuk and have it notarized in Korea. Then follow the instructions in my post.
Good luck. |
