|

I'm about to get my first paycheque with a deduction for medical.
I've heard from coworkers that some of them are getting deductions as big as 150,000 per month.
This sounds crazy to me, my previous jobs, the ones who actually gave medical, charged around 50,000.
Is there any sort of standard? What can I do if they are just ripping us off?
And also this is actually my third month at the school, but I didn't have an Alien card in the previous months, and couldn't get coverage. Are they still allowed to charge me for the 3 months I've worked here?
Thanks in advace, I searched through more than 20 pages and couldn't find the answer I was looking for! |

youll have to pay for the coverage from the time you started your job - so yes, you should have a big deduction from your first pay after you get your ARC
the cost is 2.58% of your salary. that may not be the exact number, but its very close. your employer also matches that contribution.
make sure your employer gives you the health card/paper to prove you have the coverage, otherwise theyre likely just pocketing the cash and leaving you uninsured. |
