i know buying tech stuff is cheap in korea
but what are the prices like?
i remember my cousin bought an nikon slr camera for a grand eq to canadian dollars. except i dont know the model & what not. and most slrs are in and around a grand.
i am looking for a camera and the one i want is one sale for $259.99+13% tax and its a nikon s620.
i dont know if it is signifcantly cheaper in korea or if its similiar. cuz if its significantly cheaper ill buy it in korea, if not, id rather buy it in canada so i can also add on the extended warranty
any sites where i can check the going camera prices in korea |

Actually, it's not really that cheap. If you can navigate the Korean websites, then you may find a few deals here and there. But, if you're just shopping at the standard Hi-Marts, Techno-Marts, or Yongsan you'll be in for a bit of sticker shock. Even Samsung products tend to be more expensive than in the US. |

While we're at it, does anyone know how much lenses for DSLR cameras cost in Korea (especially for Canon)? |

Try being slightly less vague. Give us some idea of lens brand and model. But, you'll probably find them less expensive in the US. |

I bought a low end canon digicam a few years back at technomart. after haggling, it was still a little more expensive than it would've been back home (by maybe 20,000 won or so..after throwing in a crappy case and some really low quality rechargeable batteries), but not all that terrible. |

Hopefully brands like Sigma, if they're available. I'd like to avoid the Canon-branded lenses if possible.
I don't have a specific type in mind... Anything other than my crappy 55mm would be fine. Lenses in general seem to pretty pricey here in Canada (even for brands like Sigma).
Thanks. |
