|
|
Ok, or the life of me, I can't seam to be able to spend money here. As hard as I try, I just can't let it go. Here, let me explain:
Food: I don't go to Western places because of rip city remorse. That is to say having a nasty meal at an exorbitant price leaves me feeling like I could have been ripped off for less.
Clothes: Don't fit and they're ugly as heck
Beer: Do I really need to explain this?
Women: They don't do it for me and spending 100 G to hump an adjuma, would, well, see rip city remorse above.
Travel: Not in Korea, no way. My money is saved for fun places!
Leisure: swimming? see the dude's post where some adjuma screamed that he and his wife had aids.
Hiking? It's ok but it's free!
Bicycling: After having had quality bikes in the states, I just can't come to terms with buying the junk that they pass off for bicycles here. Spending 1 mil on a bike here is an option but the lack of rideable places in my area kills that idea.
Movies? The main reason I went to the movies in the states was for the popcorn. Not just the popcorn, but the tons of lard I could pour on it with the self-serve butter machines. Here, the popcorn leaves me feeling unsatisfied.
So now I've got this surplus of cash that I'm supposed to spend but just can't. My problems are deep and wide, I know. But this is killing me. Every weekend I try to spend but I just can't. Please help! |

That's why Korea is such a great place for saving money. There isn't too much temptation to spend it. Just keep on saving it up, there's no need to be a consumerist all the time. |

You could take your savings and go further your education in another country. You'll spend lots of money that way! |

Son, if you can answer the following question correctly, I'll send you the money.
Choose wisely
a) spend the money on a super hot K. chick -- dinner dancing -- the works
b) spend the money on a new bicycle
c) spend the money on an average white girl that's coming to your place to watch a movie.
d) spend the money buying Korean language learning material.
you've got one choice, punk, what's it gonna be? |

At least you can sell it afterwards, girls get pissed off if you try to sell them, and korean language books,, if you were motivated enough to use them it wouldn't be an option you would already have done it. |

Clothes fit great here unless your overweight or over 6 foot 3....one of the best things about shopping in korea....great fitting clothes.
I spend the money on the same things I do back home...
And try getting a motorcycle....they're fun in Seoul!
Traveling around korea is a blast...try it! |

indeed, it's incredibly easy to save a million won a month in this country
probably because of half of the reasons mentioned in this thread

one of my joys here, and it's cheap actually: i used to express bus and love motel it around, now I korando drive and minbak/tent it around three weekends a month and still can't spend much money, my problem being eating at korean restaurants is so easy on the pocketbook |

Get a good bike, Dirt Church it on Saturdays with well adjusted, English speaking foreigners eating Western snacks and drinking Western beer. Spend the other 6 days feeling refreshed and ready to go with the flow in Korea. |
