Nickleback's entire idea of "lets have crappy pointless music yet sing like we're so earnest and deep" is so freaking annoying.
I'm back working in Canada right now and it is nauseating how much air play this band gets on the radio. It is especially bad here because of 'Canadian content rules" where radio stations have to play a certain percentage of Canadian music.
At my job they insist on keeping the radio on to a top 40 station at all times. While I can drown the music out by listening to my ipod I would sometimes like to have me ears free from a headset for an extended period without hearing that dribble. At this point I don't know what is worse, Nickleback or Lady Gaga.
End of rant. |

| Nickleback does no favors for Canada's famous exports pride. One of the worst. painfully horrible. When will they go away. Who are their true fans? I hate them all. |

Agree about the radio at work crap. I quit my 1st job after Korea ----they played 40 hours a week of crap redneck radio.
I'm in Alberta so I know all things Nickelback. I like "Rock Star" although it's a ripoff of Life's Been Good. Funny video too. |

Its a bit funny to think that someone from Canada would be worried about a band tainting people's image of the quality of music canada can produce.
its ok .... anybody who cares about music knows that for every nickelback/celine dion/ bryan adams there is about 3 spin off bands from broken social scene or wolf parade or arcade fire.....
and then there's black mountain and cadence weapon and ninja high school .....
canada has slightly too much good music. |

Itaewonguy, you know what. I have a confession to. I like Boyz II Men
Come on everybody, admit your secret pleasure!!
Seriously though, Nickelback damages the musical landscape. It is like a giant puss mound that keeps exploding over and over in monotonous dribble that plays at least twice an hour. |

| I think maybe he's referring to the satirical idea of the rock star lifestyle. Life's Been Good mocks the glorification of excess, much like this song. That's where the comparison stops. Joe Walsh was a god!! |
