Hey people

Could any of you recommend a decent gym around the Yongtong dong area of Suwon?

How about a swimming pool in the same area?

What would one usually expect to pay to visit these establishments?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Spo-In and Spo-Korea are both located in Yeongtong. There is also a sports complex with a swimming pool.

I found most gyms in Suwon to be adequate but dated. WON 480,000 for one year.

Make sure you do not use the clothes the gym provides as they are the same ones that everyone else sweats and works out in.

The Sports Complex is about 400 meters away from Spo-In, and I just found another pool today about 700 meters behind the Yeongtong HomePlus.

I got to Bobo's by Kyunghee University in Youngtong.

It's brand new and super nice. I pay $90 a month and then $30 extra for yoga. The spa and saunas are amazing too.

There isn't a pool and they have a special going on right now: 3 months for $170.

The gym with the pool is in the big park with the fountain (Pandal park...or Bandal park...depending on who romanized it). It's the HUGE building in the park...now...if you are in the plaza in Yongtong...the building with Now! Bar and Cheers is on your right...the building with Brazil and the O.K Norae is on your left...the footbridge is across the street, and behind you. Walk straight...cross the little street...and walk up toward the park. You should see the fountain ahead of you....on your left are two buildings joined with a 'skywalk' on the second or third floor.

The right hand building has the admin office where you buy your memberships...either learn Korean or take a Korean because they can't speak English (or call Josh on the Suwon help number 031 120 and he can translate for you...for free). The opposite building has the gym and the swimming pool.

Had you gone straight ahead...and walked to the giant building at the end of the street...and gone to the first floor...you would have gone to Bobo's Sporex...mentioned by a previous poster.

Bobo's is really nice...clean and new...the staff are great too....but it's pricey and they have no pool. If you want a pool...then the one in the park should suit you better.

I'm at a PS so finish at 12:30 during Summer...so if you want me to show you where the gym is tomorrow afternoon I would be more than happy to help out. Just PM me. Tomorrow is the only day I can do it...as I'm heading home for a three week holiday on Friday.

i've checked almost all gyms in Suwon.

most of them are listed here:
http://www.ikozen.com/
the also have a map with locations.

ikozen lets u use the GYM for 20-30% of actual price if your company has an agreement with them.

i set my choice on CN Fitness in Fashion Plaza, for me the atmosphere was the most important.

also there's a good GYM in NewCore outlet.
Spoin is most crowded and dirty, Bobos is clean and new, but too many ajumas wasnt inspiring there.
there's another great gym next to spoin in the basement ^^
