This is a long shot as i can't remember the name of the nightclub, or it's location in Busan....but i can describe it.
I think it was located near a university in Busan (i think!).
It was very similar in atmosphere to 'CLUB FF' in Hongdae Seoul...50% foreigner crowd, and similar rock/indie/dance music.
One had to take a stairs down to the basement level, and the entrance door was on the bottom right of the stairs.
If you were standing at the door looking into the club, you'd see a bar opposite you, running half way along the far wall.
If you turned to the right, you'd see the DJ and a small stage.
Only a 30 second walk from this club, (around the corner) was another popular foreigner bar. This bar had wooden decor, and there was a very distinctive lack of a front wall. There were lots of english teachers outside on the terrace enjoying themselves too. The bar itself was longer from front to back, than it was side to side. The tables extended perpendicular to the side walls. The main bar was at the very back, next to the toilets.
This area was clearly the equivalent of Seoul's Hongdae, with lots of foreigners and a very good atmosphere. I can't remember any more details. I'd like to go there again so if you know the name's or addresses (or map) then i'd be much obliged. |

If you're talking about that place, it is more like the Itaewon of Busan |

Yeah, it sounds like you're talking about the Kyungsung University area. The club sounds like Vinyl Underground, as Crescent mentioned. The other bar I think you described, with the wooden decor, would be the Kyungsung Dae location of Thursday Party.
Here's a pretty good map with lots of Busan drinking spots labeled, courtesy of TheOneOneFour.com.
Vinyl isn't labeled on the map, but Thursday Party KSU is, so you should be set.
Have fun! |

I used to live a 2 minute walk from that place, the Vinyl Underground. I was in there 2 or 3 times a week, cool place. The best club in Busan in my opinion. Sometimes they they play a dirty beat you can dance to, and turn the lights down low, my kind of style. The Ol' 55 down the street was cool too, if you're a bar type of person. |

Splendid !
That name "Vinyl Underground" sure does ring a bell, so i'm pretty sure that must be it !
I'm very grateful for your input, comments, and links. And i do intend to enjoy myself with the upmost fervor.
For your 5 helpful contributions, i shall randomly select 5 strangers in that club (both male and female) and give them each a drink. Cheers. |
