Which bank in Korea, in general, has been:
a) least-discriminatory to non-Korean nationals;
b) most accommodating, flexible
c) most professional
d) the most recommendable
in terms of being a non-Korean customer? |

I voted "other" for Nonghyup.
Internet banking, Credit card and overseas debit card no problem. Been with them since 2003. |

Any branch recommendations then? Could always make a trip whenever important banking matters need to be taken care of. |

Gwanghwamoon branch of KEB gave me a transfer card (i.e. subway/bus/etc. card connected to checking account) on the spot, when the Shinchon branch gave me some crap foreigner excuse as to why they couldn't. |

I've heard good things about the Itaewon branch of Standard Charter giving people international ATM cards. |

KEB hands down. They gave me an int'l ATM card that works (tried and tested in Thailand). Just in case Google "KEB Global Account" and print off that document to take with you.
Standard Chartered wouldn't give me an int'l ATM card- I even called HQ and was told the same as at the branch. And KB? Yeah right. |
