I finish my contract at the end of September and want to go to Thailand. I checked expedia and they start at about 1,000,000 won. That's insane 'cause they are half that price in September. I guess I'll be waiting until 2010 unless I can find some last minute deals in September.

Is this a new phenomena? I never paid more than 550,000 won to fly to Thailand from Korea round trip.

I finish my contract at the end of the month. I am going to Bangkok on Sept. 1 for another chapter in my life. Anyway, my one-way ticket was 550,000 KRW booked several months ago. I saw insane prices myself.

I checked around for some time. Using it as my jump off for SE Asia and managed to book a round trip leaving Oct. 2 and returning in December for 390,000

Did it through onlinetour.ko

Kn ow tickets are sold out on that cheap flight but there has still got to be lots for under 1 mill....thats redonkulous

The first weekend in October is Chuseok. This may be the reason for the high prices.

I'm sorry to hear those prices are still around. I checked prices to Thailand last winter break during Dec./Jan./Feb. and they were ridiculous then. I was hoping they would've come down by now. I need to go visit friends there.

Maybe after Sept./Oct.

I bought one leaving Sept. 1 and returning a couple weeks later at https://www.thaiair.co.kr/eng/index.html
It ran me 405,000 including taxes.

I just bought a round trip ticket to Bangkok for 416,000 including tax. I will leave August 29th and won't be coming back. It was cheaper to buy round trip than one way.

I am now looking for the cheapest way to get from Bangkok to Los Angeles. Will it be cheaper to buy that ticket when I get to Bangkok?

In my experience, it will be cheaper in Bangkok. A good agent to check with a very positive online presence is Save Flights:

You can even chat with them on MSN!

Noregrets, thanks for the reply. I'm finding some very reasonable prices even lower than I've ever paid before.

I won't use a travel agent ever again for a flight to Thailand.

The Air China sale is over as far as I could find.

Check tickets on cheapoair.com, I think that they're the only website that still has those flight routes for reasonable prices. I got a one way ticket that flies me Singapore to LAX for about $500 - the layover was in Beijing.

Check the Thai Airways website for booking direction through them. I saw some flights for 340,000 plus taxes. Got a really good deal on Hong Kong for Chuseok through them.
