Okay..
This is a positive uplifting message about a dingy, dirty looking building at the south end of Insadong. The grey block-blob between Jonggak and Jongno 3-ga is called the Nakwon Arcade. I've never ventured inside, because there is always trash overflowing, dirty restaurants, etc.
Inside, however, there is a different scene. Overpriced musical instruments on the middle floors. On the fourth floor however there is a cool lil movie theater that sports international movies for 6 bucks a pop! No Harry Potters, forget Terminator, Die Hard & Rambo 8s, this is for movies that make you leave feeling 'Aaah' or 'Whoa' (generally a better movie experience). I've been there a few times and seen Sadko, Solaris, Pink Floyd's The Wall, and The Last Waltz featuring The Band. Sometimes there are English subs. gotta check, but if you aren't in the mood for the usual slop shown in CGV or Primus, look this place up
Fourth floor only!
Don't all swarm the place at once... don't want the prices to rise because of Dave's! |

I've been there a few times. It is a really cool theater, and nice crowd hangs out there.
I saw a few Woody Allen films there, Casablanca, The Good, the bad, and the ugly, and other classics I can't remember...it was really cool to see those films on the big screen.
I haven't been back in over a year, it's just too far from where I am now. Those in Seoul should defn check it out, tho. |
