SMOE received all of my documents on July 20th and I was wondering how long it was going to be before I receive my NOA. How long did it take for those out there to get your NOAs after SMOE received all of your documents? Is there anybody out there who just never got their NOA from SMOE? |

From the time they received all my documents. I got the tracking number in 3 days. NOA arrived the next week. This was in early July |

you should probably ask your recruiter when to expect your noa...they can probably gauge a pretty good idea when it'll arrive, and plus the school will let them know when they have sent the noa as well. |

No you'll have to be slightly more aggressive yet, still be polite. Find out what the delay is. Then make sure you get a tracking #. If you just ask the recruiter for dates you may or may not get it. |

yea, thats why I'm worried. My life will really suck if I somehow get rejected or if things dont' turn out the way I planned it...since I did give up almost everything else in my life to teach in Korea |

That's where I am right now.... I got rejected and now have to find other teaching jobs.... hopefully soon. If not I have to find a job here in the states in this crappy economy.
The way you said it made me realize how much it sucks to be me... |

Breathe deep.
The easiest way to end up in one of the worst case situations in Korea is to become too anxious when one or two opportunities peterout and you jump at the first thing that comes along.
Unless your living conditions in your home country are horrible, be patient and think things through and do a smart job search before committing to a place. It is all a crapshoot in the ESL industry to begin with. There is relative security in a public school or university position vs a hakwon, but any school you sign with can be bad, but taking the time to do things like contact other teachers at a school can help.
Don't just jump at the next offer you get - unless you're in danger of becoming homeless in your home country... |

Yea, I just graduated from college and I'm in doom...
Keep your hopes up, even though I still can't get a job in the states, I still dont' think that it sucks to be me.
Btw, I got my NOA finally so I can breathe now....not trying to make you feel any worse or anything but maybe you should try a different recruiter?
I went through Korvia and my recruiter is Juno Suh and she seems to be pretty good. |
