Hi,
I'm just in the final stages of getting my visa, etc. for coming out to Korea. Is it possible to travel to the north at all? I'd quite like to see it but obviously I'm aware of the political situation there.

Thanks.

As interesting as it would be to see the place, I don't want to participate in funding the regime no matter how inconsequential the amount might be.

From what I've heard, North Korean immigration will staple an extra page into your passport with the entry documentation upon your arrival. This page will then be removed when you depart.

There are several tour companies that offer trips, especially for the Mass Games.

Traveling to N korea is easier than traveling to Cuba.

huh? Traveling to Cuba is NOT hard. Everyone in the world except americans can freely travel to cuba whenever they want. And it's not hard for Americans to Cuba they just have to fly to a different country first.

This site has a list of tour companies

I didn't go into N. Korea, but I went to the DMZ, and I wrote a blog about my experience, if that's of any interest to anyone. It was an amazing experience... http://rockyourteeth.xanga.com/702715198/our-trip-to-the-dmz-or-north-korean-border/
