I've been researching kindie/early elementary placement options for a few months now and am considering accepting a position with April English in Busan. Does anyone have experience working with April English? If so, I would be so grateful if you could post or PM me. I am aware of the CCTV, set vacation weeks, summer/winter intensives, etc. However, I am concerned about working weekends (even though verbally I was "guarenteed" no weekends), as well as the repetitive nature of teaching standardized lesson plans. Also, the fact that the institute is so new (I believe these branches began opening in 2007?) leaves me wondering if there are any issues regarding job satisfaction and security.

Any information or advice would be wonderful, thank you so much!

Is it Chungdahm April English? If so, there are plenty of Chungdahm (CDI / CDL) threads on Dave's. I work for Chungdahm (which is the school April feeds into) and I've had a great experience thus far. We have an April school upstairs at my branch and most of the teachers seem to be pretty nice.

CCTV has never bothered me and, frankly, gives me a sense of security that if some kid lies that I punted him across the room, or that if someone says I don't cover the lesson, etc., I'll always have evidence to the contrary.

Most importantly, get references from current & past teachers.
