|
|
I've been running around the past few days like an idiot trying to get my college degree notarized and apostilled as well as my CBC.
Nobody will notarize it because they don't know the original to be genuine so I'm wondering how the hell I can get it apostilled if I can't get it notarized? I'm being told that you cannot get a college degree notarized unless it's done by the college and i called up my college and they don't do that.
Can someone from PA give me an answer? |

Ummm, unless PA is not like the rest of the USA, I can give you some help, but fair warning, I'm not from PA.
OK, CBC. You might have to get another one. Usually, you get a CBC, and give it to a local body. No problem. Now, in some states (New York and Alabama for examples), to get it apostilled, need to have a second letter with it for the Secretary of State. I forget what it's called. My CBC was $25. Right before I left, I was chatting with the lady and mentioned I was going overseas. She said, "Oh, does this have to be apostilled? You need another letter for that so they can verify." It was an extra $5. Not much, but worth it's weight in gold. Call back where you got your CBC, and ask them is there something else you need to get it apostilled.
OK, your diploma. Assuming it's actually a physical diploma, you take it to either Fed Ex, or your Bank, etc, and they copy it. Then they notarize the copy.
I hope some of this helps. Let us know. |

Here's how to get a COPY of a diploma apostilled in North Carolina. Take both original and copy to bank(free) or UPS store ($5), write on copy "This is an authentic copy of my original diploma from Whatever U," then sign it. The bank or UPS guy will stamp it. Then send it to the Sec. of State and they add the apostille for $10. Maybe it's similar to PA - they must have a website about it... |

are you sure your college doesn't just have a notary public on campus? i've heard that mine does. for my cbc, i indicated that i needed it for a visa, and the state police got it notarized for me. |
