Me and my girlfriend are moving to Ulsan at the end of August and we just wanted to see who else on here was going too. I heard that the foreign community there is quite small so we just were seeing if we could find some people in the same boat as us. And does anyone know good places to go in Ulsan to meet other foreigners? |

Hi
note: the address for Ulsan online is Ulsanonline.COM.
You'll have no worries in Ulsan regarding meeting people, I thought it sounded like a hellhole before i came what with all the industry and such. but it turns out that the city has some problems shaking off some old stigma. In fact it has changed immensly in the last 10 years. there are tons of internationals here and thankfully its not just teachers. the industry sector actually means you can meet people who aren't just from cushy english speaking countries. but of course theres enough of us typical teachers about aswell.
when you arrive youll quickly pickup on where all the expats live but as the city is large and spread out there are a few different hubs.
lookup a place called benchwarmers in shinae as it makes a good place to start.
most people seem to actually like living in Ulsan and its nice to be in a place that has the benifits of a city (find anything you want/international food) but does not have the associated costs of a big city!
send us an email if you wanna know any more!
enjoy!

Just a wee dram in Ulsan at the local orankay watering hole. The Koreans were by far more friendly than the tightly-knit unit of seoyangins. Nod your hat when you're out there! |
