|
|
Hey guys, I was wondering if there is anyway that you can somehow bypass this. I wanted to download Mass Effect cause I've been craving that game, but it says "This is not available in your area" or whatever. Same thing happens with Netflix. I don't really care about netflix, but I want Mass Effect!
My Xbox is from the US, but my router is Korean if that helps at all...
Is there any hope? |

Good god man, forget about that Games on Demand service. They're charging more than what a brand new, physical copy of the game costs.
A quick look at Gmarket and you can pick up a new copy for 24,500. Even less, about $10 less, when you factor in the exchange rate. Order it from Play-asia.com and grab a couple of other games. |

Well I just had a real bad experience with Play asia... it's been about a month and a half since I ordered a game from there, and they are still "looking into" why it hasn't arrived yet...
Plus I don't mind paying 20 bucks and not having to deal with the mail... just haven't had good luck in general with Korean mail...
In case anyone else is interested though, I did find a way... you have to have a PC though, and you have to pay about 5 or 6 bucks...

I assume this would work with Netflix if anyone wants it for that reason |

That sucks. Did you order it express mail or regular post? I had a problem with the regular post but UPS, FedEx and the other courier services have been top notch.
Good luck with the Live workaround and hope it works because Mass Effect is a wicked game. I'm really excited for the sequel. If it doesn't work, check out Gmarket. Takes a few minutes to register, you can send money through your ATM if you don't have a credit card and you'll get the game within a day or two. |

Thanks man, I always forget about G-market for some reason so I'll check that out... Maybe i'll give the korean mail system another chance... but it's their last!
Wait, is G-market like Auction.co.kr where you have to be a Korean citizen to register? Also, why when I hit the "English" button at the top does nothing happen... everything just stays in Korean... |

I had to use Internet Explorer (when will Koreans stop using that piece of crap..). And nope, foreigners can register, all you need is your Alien ID number, phone number, and email address. You'll want to use a shipping address in Korean, obviously. I've had great experiences using it. |

Will this fix the status code 80072746 problem? I can't get access to Marketplace, and therefore no access to game updates, and therefore no XBL at all. Have spent hours and hours on the phone with them and nothing.
I wonder, though, because my IP address shows it's from Korea, and a quick glance at the document seems to indicate it's only a problem if your IP doesn't match your country. |
