Sorry if this has been brought up before (the search is worse than useless on this site) but can anyone recommend a good movie download site? Also I want to burn the downloaded movies to CD. Can anyone recommend a good burner to do this?

I dont mind paying a few bucks especially if I can access new releases.

I'm not particularly computer savvy so I kinda need something I can use thats idiot-proof (if thats possible)....lol.

ISO Hunt.
Check the comments before downloading; though red comments are bad.
Good luck.

My absolute favorite site is thepiratebay.org. However, they are going out of business sometime "soon," though recent events suggests it won't be all that soon. If the upload has a purple or green skull next to it, it's good. Otherwise, you're running a risk downloading it. My backup site is mininova.com. I don't use it as much so I don't know how to tell if an upload is trusted, but I use Linux which doesn't get viruses (I suggest you try it out of you feel adventurous), so I can download anything I want from anyone with no worries.

Unfortunately, I don't have much experience with burning movies onto CDs. What program to use will depend upon what operating system you use, and I assume you use Window$. Since I use Linux all I can do is google and try to give you something that may work. This looks simple: http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-burnwin.htm. Good luck.

both isohunt.com and piratebay.org are great. I was recently turned on to sharereactor.com which does a nice job of filtering out all the junk and showing you just what's good.

Forget burning. It's a total waste of protons. If you keep the movies on your computer, you should be able to simply hook it up directly to your TV to watch them, which uses only electrons. Do you really want to save movies forever? Buying an external hard drive is just about as cheap as (and far easier) than buying good burning software and the CDs to store them.

Email me directly if you want to know details on how to watch movies in style and comfort. My living room rocks.

to legally download movies...u need to use a torrent site...or pay for the movie at places like netflix. However, there's always someone making movies available on his personal ftp server. You need to learn how to use google with some parameters. I found one place to download my movies, but because he is using a dynamic ip address, it is subject to change. His temporary address is this: http:..121.173.40.29

just click downloads....movies.....and you can download some 300 movies. It's probably a good idea to send him an e-mail so you can always find out what his new address is. It changes every few months.

if you are going to download from torrent sites, u will need a torrent downloader. bit comet is a good one. the best site hands down to download movies is ahashare.com. isohunt and piratebay are ok. generally speaking, it's pretty safe to dl movies and tv shows....but be careful downloading programs.

That would be the definition of illegally downloading something.. you're off to a great start..

to the OP do you want western movies or Korean movies? Only mainstream korean movies tend to find their way to public trackers with any reliability. If you want to watch a lot of korean movies you're best off looking for a dedicated asian movie site.

it's only illegal to download copyrighted material. not all downloads at torrent sites are copyrighted. so, yes and no. it might be illegal to download some material from the torrent sites.

here's a quote from a website i was just at:

I was looking online for copyright theft/infringement and found a case where the case looked over by the Supreme court was considered in the favour of the bootleg phonorecords seller:

" interference with copyright does not easily equate with theft, conversion, or fraud. The Copyright Act even employs a separate term of art to define one who misappropriates a copyright: ... 'an infringer of the copyright.' ...

The infringer invades a statutorily defined province guaranteed to the copyright holder alone. But he does not assume physical control over the copyright; nor does he wholly deprive its owner of its use. While one may colloquially link infringement with some general notion of wrongful appropriation, infringement plainly implicates a more complex set of property interests than does run-of-the-mill theft, conversion, or fraud.

that still doesn't make your earlier statement make any sense.

One does not need a torrent site to legally download a movie. You can legally download non-copyrighted through many methods not just torrent sites. I'm quite sure the OP isn't talking about public domain movies, or the 1 or 2 movies that have been released under the GFDL.

since most ppl think that using a torrent site is illegal, it is understandable to think that my statement didn't make sense. "to download movies legally, use a torrent site." but if u think about it for a second....since it is possible to legally download movies using a torrent site, then my statement makes perfect sense. what didn't make sense to me was your statement "that still doesn't make your earlier statement make any sense". i suppose it can make sense. lol

No it doesn't make sense.
Go look up the meaning of the word "need" it means a requirement
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/need

you do not require a torrent site to download movies legally as you stated. you can legally download non-copyrighted movies via ftp sites, http sites, any other peer to peer sites, news groups, etc, etc, etc,

possible!=need.

ty for the english lesson...and to think i almost spent another evening working on my website...and not just a blog site. lol

Who would have known that by responding to someones inquiry about how to download movies...who never mentioned legality...that i would have received a free lesson on the word "need". I'm pretty sure if scrutinized, you can find a lot more things to find wrong with me...but in the meantime, I'll just keep working on real websites leaving the simple blog site to the pro. Maybe you can help me on my TOEIC program and my idioms dictionary. I could use the help.

And if you click the link to webmaster...yes, it is a genuine rolex with a matching rolex cut ring.

The one that is 404? Another swing and a miss. Oh a refresh did it, you might want to host it something better than a toaster.

404...read the fine print...unable to connect...too many people connected. that's because i host my own web sites...as well as a radio station..and 4 game servers. lol 404, ya right.

the reason too many people connected? umm, maybe its my radio station...perhaps it's my TOEIC test program.

You never said anything about helping me....of course i never expected a compliment on a 10 thousand dollar watch.

You let me know when u reach the 65 thousand an hour mark for teaching.
