|
|
I've been to 미인 in Shinchon several times. It's the only sushi buffet I've been to in the 10,000won range. Pretty good in my opinion. There are a few more in Shinchon and I know of one in Hongdae but I'm looking for ones that are not in the Mapo or Seodaemun area yet still lower than 20,000won a person. Can anyone help me out? |

Is 미인 the place in the little alley across from the Vietnamese restaurant? If so, I've been there and hated it.
The best sushi buffet I've seen in Korea for under 20,000 is in Myeong-dong. It's a little tricky to explain but I'll give it a shot:
Take exit 5 out of Myeongdong station. Keep walking until you get to the intersection. Turn right at the corner with a glasses shop (Shinsegae Dept. Store is across that street). The sushi place is on the right; across the street and up a little bit is Lotte Dept. Store. The restaurant has a glass front and you can see a horseshoe shaped sushi conveyer belt inside. There's also a sign that says, in Korean, that it's a sushi buffet for something like 16,000 won (the total is around 18,000 with tax though) for 40 minutes.
If you can't find it you can stop at one of those Tourist Information Booths; that's how I found it the first time myself. Good luck and happy eating! |

I've eaten there several dozen times while there is a little more rice than other places, the fish is pretty thick, and I've never been sick from it. |

Thanks for the info. 미인 is actually pretty close to that place you're talking about but it's on the main road. Do you mind explaining why you didn't like the place you went to? I was thinking about checking it out.

It's not all bad. Sure it's not as great as some fancier places, but it's still sushi and better than most things at that price range. How many other buffets are there in Korea for man won? |

at 미인? The regular sushi that has a peice of fish on top of rice, with a variety of fish. About a dozen different kinds of rolls, although most of them taste the same. Japanese soba noodles, spaghetti, some kind of weird sandwich, egg rolls, sweet and sour pork, salad, fruits, etc. Soda fountain with free refills is a plus for me.
If you go at lunch on weekdays, it's 9800 won. The drawback to this place is that you have a time limit (80 minutes is more than enough in my opinion) and you're charged an extra 1000 if you leave a piece of sushi on your plate. |

My favorite is Wild Wasabi in Hongdae. 1000 won a plate and generally pretty good cuts of fish. Girlfriend and I regularly eat there for 20,000 or less.
It's located down from the park (walking towards Sangsu station) just past Krispy Kreme on the second floor above a noraebang. |

The place in the little alleyway is bad because the fish is cut very thin; basically it's rice with a bit of fish on top. Not meaty at all. Avoid. |
