I know that the first time you get a contract you need to have an in-person interview at the Korean consulate. What if you had to leave your first contract in the middle because of a sudden emergency, and you had a letter of release from your school? Would you still have to go back to the Korean consulate and do your interview all over again? |

No, you've already been issued your E-2. It's just for first time teachers who have never had an E-2. |

You need to have an interview at the consulate if you have never had one before. The consulate interviews are something rather new. If you were in Korea say 3 or 4 years ago you wouldn't have had an interview. Now, even though you would have had a previous E-2 visa, you would still need a consulate interview because you had never gone before. Make sense?
Usually it is only for first timers, but it is also for people who have never been to the consulate before. |
