Does anybody have any current info on the ADULTS ONLY branches of BCM ? I see there are split shifts across the board, but I assume that is normal among adult schools. I see they also provide housing unlike many other adult chains.

Specifically, what is the work atmosphere like? Is it pretty laid-back? Has anybody who's worked there ever encountered problems? Is there a suit and tie requirement like YBM and PAGODA?

I did a little background research on BCM using the "search" function and it certainly doesn't look like hot shit. There seems to be a general consensus that, if one prefers adults only, WALL STREET appears to be a better place to work. Can somebody else back this up?

It all depends on the branch you work at.

Most adult schools in Seoul don't provide housing, but I think those outside Seoul do.

Teaching adults helps you learn about Korean society, but they are also harder to "teach" if you want to teach. But if you just go with what they prefer - free talking free talking free talking - and don't mind doing less activities that you would normally do in a language course, it is easy teaching.

The split shift hours can be tiresome, but I really think it ends up pretty much the same as other gigs.

I taught at one outside of Seoul for a year. I finished my contract, was paid on time every month, got my severance a-ok. I enjoyed the students (all adults) and was given a lot of leeway with the materials I taught. My "room" was pretty small, with thin walls and loud neighbors, but I guess that's par for the course. My main problem was the split shift which eventually drove me away. I taught at 6:30 in the morning, then had a night class that ended at 9:30. I can't say it was a bad experience all in all, but lack of sleep took it's toll.
