I guess this thread could be a general talk about bags. I have some specific questions for those who are observant enough or knowledgeable enough about the subject.

1) Which is the most popular? I haven't seen coach so much, But I see a LOT of Louis Vutton. I don't see Prada much either.

2) What's the relative price of Coach bags in Korea? The lowest and highest ones? I'd assume they go high as they can. But do they go as low as 100,000? 150,000 maybe? If anyone bought any for their girlfriend, how much did you pay?

EDIT: Found the prices

Louis is far and away the one I see the most on a day to day basis. Whether they are real or not is another story but I assume the majority of them are legit. I guess the next most common to see would be Coach, for younger women and Chanel for the older women. Every Korean woman I know that has gone to the States has come back with at least one Coach bag so I guess that they are a lot cheaper there than here. From talking to Korean women the bag they most want is a Chanel bag but they are too exp so they settle for Louis/Gucci. There are also numerous, longchamp, MCM, Louis Quartoze and other dept store brands that you see a lot of. Prade is a brand I do not see often, legit ones anyway. There are many fake Prada being carried around but not as many as when I was first here in 2002. The other major player that you did not mention is Gucci. These days I am seeing more and more Gucci for men and women. The signature G print is besoming as common as the LV monogram.

If Korea doesn't have the world's highest proportion of LV bags/100,000 people I'll eat my prominently displayed Gucci belt.

Take the price in a US department store and DOUBLE IT. That is the Korean price.

Obviously, the most coveted bag in Korea is Chanel. In Korean's eyes, Coach is probably bottom of the barrel as far as luxury. You can buy a Coach bag for 500,000w. hell, I don't even think Koreans consider Coach luxury. I think they see it as your "everyday use" bag. LV and Prada is more expensive. Then you get to Fendi. The top of the bag pyramid is Chanel.
