Is there a Korean site where you can search for bus routes and transfers?
Like this one: http://bus.congnamul.com/SeoulRouteWebApp/view_english/map.jsp ... except up-to-date and not completely useless? Every time I look for a route it tells me to take a bus that I know doesn't exist any more, and it doesn't have info on any of the new routes. |

If there's a good one out there, I've not found it. |

I've never had an issue with that site. Every bus it has told me to take exists. The only issue I have is that it doesn't include local bus routes for cities attached to seoul.
For example I went to the hockey game and it listed 1 bus to go there 4425. It was right, but when I got to the stop I found out that Anyang had like 8 different routes all going along the same road, so I took one of those. If anyone has a site (or sites) that list the various bus services for different cities that would be handy. |

That's not bad, but you need to know the names of the stops you're going to.. you can guess by the area, but if you choose the wrong stop, it might lead you astray. I like being able to look at a map, and say "this spot to this spot" |

you could always call information and have someone figure it out for you. They have an English option. 02 1330 |

I'd use that but... it is not up-to-date either!
I can read Korean well enough to navigate this sort of website in Korean, and I assume the Korean ones would be kept up better than these ones. No one knows anything?
crossmr, it's a big problem when going anywhere from the Itaewon area. The stop closest to my house is served by 3 buses - 405, 421, and 0213. They are ALL NEW. None of them are on the map! If I use the map, it tells me to take 0014, 0015, or 0016, which no longer exist.
There's no Korean map that works the same way? Really? |

Just put in this much of the link and it gives you the Korean map.
http://www.congnamul.com/
The English map accuracy is down to about 75% for me. But I haven't really used the Korean version much. can you check and see if it has your Itaewon buses correct?
Edit:
oops my bad, that map is fir driving directions.
Somewhere in there is the Korean version of the bus map |

Korean driving map: Updated, with correct buses!
Korean bus map: Still has the old buses. You can find it here: http://bus.congnamul.com/SeoulRouteWebApp/view/MapBrowser.jsp

I believe that Congnamul site lists MULTIPLE routes. So you scroll down and pick a better route.
OR
You could go to the actual bus stop, see the buses that are listed and get an idea of where they go. |

If you knew where the stop names are, that is great. A lot of stop names are just names of apartment buildings, banks, etc. That doesn't remotely tell you where they go. They do sometimes have names of subway stations, but unless you're going to a subway station it isn't overly helpful to you.
Congnamul is great for the multiple routes, sometimes daum gives horrible routes. |

Yes, but since ALL the buses have changed in the last few months, EVERY route is unworkable. I wanted to go to Gwanghwamun, and EVERY route involved a bus that isn't running any more.

This is what I have been doing. It's not terribly effective, mainly because I usually need to transfer and the bus stop doesn't have information on that. |
