Why not ask SMOE? I did mine before I came to Korea, but that was a few years ago. If you have to get it done in for your ARC and one from home won't do, then I'm going to guess it will be after Orientation.
But still, why not just ask SMOE or your recruiter, cause all you'll get here is people's past experiences or speculations.
Good luck! |

Right, I put in an email to my recruiter put it's the weekend as you know. Didn't have to take one here like I did a year ago. Just seeing if anyone know. Thanks! |

It'll be when you get your butt down to the hospital. Probably during your first week at school. |

after you find out your school. I came early and tried having it done. But, my recruiter told me they wouldn't accept the results. |

Ya, your co-teacher should take you at some point in the first two weeks... It's needed for your ARC, which is needed for pretty much everything else, lol |

All the previous answers are not as sound as they should be.
You have 90 days to submit your medical check to immigration for your ARC. You do have to submit a medical check every year to SMOE, but unless you signed something that said you have to do it at a certain time or a certain place, you can choose when and where you do it.
I advise you NOT to go to the clinic your school recommends and NOT to go with your co-teacher. Medical privacy does NOT exist in Korean schools and everyone is curious about you. Schools are known to pass medical documents around offices because they all want to know about you. If you want, you can send the documents directly to SMOE (your contract is through them, not your school) and bypass the b.s.
I have heard in the past about SMOE demanding people go to a certain place at a certain time. Ask them to show you where it says you have to do that and inform them you will go to YOUR doctor when YOU make the appointment. |
