So, for those of you who have been here long enough, I'm sure that the influence of plastic surgery has rubbed just a little off on you guys. Who's considering doing a bit? And YES, botox and fillers count, though there's not knife involved.
By the way, kekek...I think I'm an official cynic. Couldn't help but thing that Big Bang's accident was actually a front for visiting that plastic surgeon to carve himself a new nose. What you guys think?

Shocking. He should really follow the example of those paragons of comfortable body image-um- having, the Wonder Girls.
PS- I am suprised he needed a pretext to get plastic surgery. As a Korean pop star, isn't he required to have some plastic surgery whether it improves him or not? |

Dude, did you read that article? There was a van crash against a guard railing. He hurt his back and arm and is now going to miss upcoming shows. The other passengers were hurt and one required surgery on her leg. All that to cover up a nose job? |

Sorry if I call you out (or if I'm sadly mistaken), but you sound fairly new to the land. Uh...yes...all that to cover a nose job....yes...
Welcome to Korea!--a.k.a. the land of embellishment and "truthification"...they made that word you know just for South Korea...it was written all about it after the Hwang Woo-suck stem cell/ cloning case...
By the way, there was a special on TV today about a guy who cut 2 of his fingers off to avoid military duty...little did he know that it only qualifies him for 5 Level health problems (or that it's not a novel idea...takes level 7 or so to qualify for 면제--retroactive non-enlistment due to physical/ mental complications). So he'll be drafted soon and will have to deal with his missing fingers on his own...although some are wondering if he could perhaps have a mental problem. However, doctors eventually said that he's normal. (Again welcome to Korea)
The last thing you can ever say about Korea is that the people here don't go to extremes to get their way.
You should also notice that the journalistic slant starts by focusing specifically on the nose injury backed with a picture of his "imperfect" one. I wonder how much they were paid. haha |

Sounds to me like you're the one new to the land! Young Koreans wouldn't go to such great lengths to cover up plastic surgery! It's not a stigma here at all. If anything it's a status symbol.
Check out this link for pics of the crash. Think they did this on purpose??!!

It was a serious crash. Probably another case of the manager driving too fast so as to pack in 4 profitable engagements that day instead of 3. A couple of K-stars died last year in the same circumstances. |

Obviously you know nothing about the industry and also confused about the land you happened to land (in a couple of months--likely--or years ago--could be a slow learner).
1. Koreans don't like change (even more so than other countries...though other places are the same).
2. He's already famous.
1 + 2 = A huge scandal worth your vexation and rebuttal.. (IT WAS A JOKE...and no one was seriously injured so get over yourself already)
But it's a null issue...
...so when are you gonna go under the knife you sympathizer... (I'm just kidding...not really name calling...just in case you're also anal retentive...oh wait...nevermind) |

I don't agree with the OP. Daesung is already very popular in Korea. He doesn't need plastic surgery to increase his fame.
I think the plastic surgery usually happens before a person breaks out into the business. You get it done when you are a nobody. Why the hell would you get the surgery done AFTER your face has already been shown everywhere in Korea? |
