Over the weekend I went on some sort of retreat. On the last night, they had a big portable BBQ oven and a pig roast. The pig had been deboned, tied to a giant skewer and set to roast for hours in the BBQ oven.

It was absolutely delicious. The meat was VERY soft and tender. I was told a deboned pig is about 50kg, and it fed about 70-80 people.

The meat didn't taste like the "BBQ Pork" you get at Korean joints. It actually tasted like Pulled BBQ pork you would find in the Southern US.

Everything was done by some shopowner out in the Gyeonggi-do that has a Korean BBQ pork place. He offers the whole roast pig as a catering menu item.

If any of you are organizing some big event, and you need to feed over 50 people, I highly recommend getting a roast pig. All the equipment comes, and the people even cook it for you. All you do is show up with a huge plate when its time to eat.
