Well, the "new" oven we purchased 3 months ago is making a grinding noise inside. This will be repair number 2 on that product. It's one of those table-top ovens that doubles as a microwave.

Wondering if we should call service now and have them tell us there is nothing wrong, or wait for it to totally die so they can't deny there isn't a problem.

Last time they came out to service the product, the service guy wanted us to return it so he wouldn't have to fix it (because he didn't know how).

I always seem to go for the LG product rather than the Samsung. LG is usually about 10% cheaper than Samsung but the quality level seems the same.

Except for our LG vacuum cleaner, which sucked!! Laughing

I would agree with this.

They also charge MORE for the same items here. By the way, we went with a Samsung oven instead of the LG because our LG television sucked, and required several repairs! Confused

Yup.. my ex husband always insisted on buying overseas stuff. Our oven is Rinnai. It's 9 years old now and still going strong. I want to get a new one, but i am not sure how much longer I am going to be in Korea, so getting one seems a bit of a waste for now...

My LG vacuum cleaner also sucks. I'm about to bite the bullet and buy a new one. Any recommendations for a brand/model which is cheap but good and compact?

Samsuck makes one for around 60,000 that's sold at E-mart. The bags are cheap and plentiful on the web too.

I didnt like the Samsung ovens, so I ended up with the LG Dios Oven.

I've had it for 2 years and no problems yet; knock on wood.

I have a cheap Unimax vaccum cleaner I have had for almost 4 years now. The thing takes a beating, and keep on working just as well as it did the day i bought it. Granted I live in a 1-room..and don't use any attachments for it...i just use a dust wand to sweep everything to one area and use the handheld to suck it up.

I have had trouble with it once where the wires for power came disconnected where it exits the device (my fault for winding the cord around the unit too tight) but a simple re-splice solved the problem. Regular cleaning of the filter and it sucks just as well as anyone could ask for a 15,000, cheapest unit available at emart.

You call it Samsuck because you had a problem with one product? Samsung is a top brand these days in almost everything they make, especially in electronics. Perhaps you're not into electronics much.

I especially like how the OP trashes Samsung and recommends them in the same thread.
