Looking for a public school job at the last minute. I already have all my documents ready to go. I've looked around myself, haven't really seen anything. I emailed a recruiter and she said there are schools in rural areas which I'm totally okay with. Getting out of Seoul area would be a relief actually. Are my chances of finding a school slim to none as of now?

Most PS started their contract around Mar 1st. End of August means they qualify for return home airfare. So, soon there will be openings popping up here and there. But they'll be offered to SMOE-waitees first. Judging by the soundness of the waitees' judgments, I'd say you have a good chance of landing a PS position by October.

For those who have been around the last few years, about when do you start noticing job offers at Dave's that are the result of runners going home? Is there any particular trend you've noticed about sudden spikes in the midnight run?

October is prime for getting a runners job. This is how I got my job and it will be free next month as I am leaving. I posted that my job is free and only two people asked for info the rest just kept complaining that they can't find work.

I'd reply, but since I made the decision to go over to look in person, I'm back to scouting adult hakwons (or a miracle university job) as my first priority and will expand depending on how things go the first couple of weeks...

I guess I am also on a SMOE waiting list of some kind as well...
