So ronery...
Here's my typical day:
Wake up 9:00. Work at 9:45. Shower, get a coffee, walk to work. Break at 11am till 11:10am. Work till 12:10, lunch till 1:10. Then I work straight until 6:30 every evening. It's not that bad actually.
What is bad is that I spend my evenings alone in my apartment, thinking of the loser I've become since I let a woman control my life, who demanded that she be the only one in my life. Then she decides to leave me, leaving me with absolutely no support or anyone to talk to.
I'm into photography and art, and technology. I'm a good looking guy (so I've been told) and I just need something to break this whole 'alone all the time' thing I've got going on. It's getting pretty unhealthy.
Have others been in the same situation? I live in central Seoul, near Cheonggu.
Oh, and I don't drink. I think that's a lot of what my problem is. |

That does still happen, and everything is great until the sex is through, and she removes her mask of beauty only to reveal the face of medusa withdrawing from an opiate binge. |

I feel your pain brother. I broke up with an incredible woman earlier this year who I was crazy about. Apparently to her, my plan to move to graduate school in Seoul 90 minutes away by train was too far and she didn't want to have to worry about being in a serious relationship with someone she knew would leave the city.
Guess what she did...she turned around and started dating another weagook who will eventually leave the country!
Am I the only one who sees the irony of that?
Sad thing was...she is 30, and now just wants to play and "enjoy her life" after spending more than a year telling me how much she loved me.
Not her fault really..I'm sure there were others reason...but more honesty about the reasons for the break-up would have made it go down easier.
The comfort food I have found in the meantime is nice, but I know it is just temporary..and I would trade this 21 year old (western age) cosmetics model for the 30 year old ex any day of the week without thinking twice!
Cheer up man...you are not a loser for losing someone you care about. Find a good pal or two and get out of the apartment and get back on that horse. |

Yes, I understand your situation. Korea didn't produce good results as far as my relationship with my wife is concerned. We are now separated, and she is gone. My experience is shockingly similar to your own. At first it was hard, but now it is getting better. I am going out more, but I still have a lot of alone time. I don't really mind it though. Beer helps! Start drinking!
My solution is to move to Bangkok in two weeks. Let's see how that works out! |

i can understand as well as i've been in a similar spot. change and activity are key. get yourself a hobby involving interaction with other people (martial arts, dance class, yoga, whatever) - or go for some larger change and try out a new country with new people and experiences on offer. most importantly, stop seeing that girl altogether cause it's just keeping you from moving on. |

Thanks for the comments and advice everyone. I was almost expecting this to turn into a crucifixion of sorts.
The problem is that she was a VERY passionate person, so when she loved me, she really REALLY loved me, like manic love. When she was upset with me, I was the scum of the earth. Much like heroin (I'd imagine), I just kept chasing that high.
I went to Itaewon on Sunday and made a point to talk to a girl with a camera. Yeah it's a fetish of mine... since I'm a photographer as well. I met a girl and we spent the day together, although she's from far away. It was really cool, and the actual human interaction felt great.

There are so many women out there. Just go on a mindless, irresponsible feeding frenzy. But whatever you do, dont go to the nearest university, and shoot 48 people -killing 33. |

This might sound dumb, but have you considered getting into a martial art? It'll alleviate your feelings of having not accomplished anything, as you've stated. You'll definitely feel like your accomplishing something, plus the exercise will make you feel better.
As for companionship, you said you don't drink, but are you strict about that or is that religious? I'm only asking because drinking, even small amounts, makes meeting people a lot easier in my opinion. Try hitting the bars with a few co-workers and you'll probably meet more people there too. |
